This is an antique mayonnaise set which includes a footed bowl, a porcelain spoon and an under-plate. It can also be used for whipped cream, sauce, or anything you like. The design features hand painted azaleas with generous gold details on a white background. The rims of all pieces and the ball feet are trimmed in gold. Sizes: bowl, 4½ in. w. x 2 in. h.; plate, 5½ in. w.; spoon, 1¾ in. w. x 5 in. l. The plate is not marked, but the other two pieces have the Nippon rising sun mark in blue. This set is circa 1920. Condition is very good with no chips, cracks or wear to the gold.
