The 6478 Hi-Vis Freezer Jacket is rated to -50°F // -46°C conditions for up to 5 hours of moderate work activity in freezer cold storage facilities. It delivers warmth, comfort and durability while ensuring high visibility in low light.
For additional functionality, the jacket includes oversized front pockets and a pen/stylus holder for ample storage and easy access, even when wearing gloves. Rib-knit cuffs help seal out the cold and wind, while heavy-duty zippers with storm flaps offer extra protection against harsh weather. Reflective tape and added lime background material enhance visibility in low-light conditions.
A clearly visible exterior size label allows wearers to instantly recognize and select their ideal jacket size. This jacket features a built-in mic tab and d-rings to provide easy access to radios, scanners, ID badges and keys. Designed for practicality, the jacket is machine washable for effortless cleaning and care.
This reflective coat is a Type R Class 2 garment with 2” ANSI/ISEA 107-2020 compliant reflective stripes for visibility and safety in low-light conditions.
Designed with 200g of 3M™ Thinsulate™ insulation, this jacket traps heat for warmth in extreme cold, ranging from -10°F to -50°F (-23°C to -46°C). The 3M Thinsulate is 30% thinner in profile compared to standard poly fill and has a higher loft design, making it condense at a much slower rate and offers more thermal retention than standard poly fill—increasing its life integrity. Minimized washing will extend the overall life of the thermal, insulated garment.
Insulation performance is measured by CLO ratings—which is a unit of thermal resistance that indicates insulating ability. The higher the CLO value, the higher the amount of warmth a piece of clothing provides.
To determine temperature ratings, CLO factors, Metabolic Equivalent of Task (MET) and the time or duration of a task are considered. MET levels are categorized into 3 groups:
Some warehouses and facilities are more manual in nature, leading to higher MET levels, while others rely on automation, resulting in lower MET levels. N-Ferno 6478 Hi-Vis Freezer Jacket has a CLO rating of 2.59 and is rated at a moderate work level in -50°F // -46°C temperatures for up to 5 hours (rated up to a full 8-hour workday at -45°F // -43°C).
Ideal for those working in freezer cold storage facilities, whether in a cooler or freezer room, where dim lighting and forklift activity require enhanced visibility and safety. Also designed for outdoor workers in any industry, from construction to mining and outdoor recreational activities such as hiking or snowmobiling.
